The Detroit Auto Show was the venue for the revealing of Hyundai Veloster, it is a four door coupe but with a hatch back so the driver has one door and then the other two are on the passengers side.

The car is due to arrive in the UK in October of this year prices will be around the £16,000 so a direct rival to the Scirocco.

2010 proved to be indeed a great year for the Skoda brand marking the best ever, the Czechoslovakian maker now owned by Volkswagen sold 762,000 cars worldwide and great big 11.5% increase on the previous year.

Here in the UK the market share rose to 2% as a result of 10% sales increase which amounted to over 40,000 cars, however it did not quite manage to catch the Kia brand who grabbed 2.8% of the UK market.

2010 for the whole of the market was good with a nearly 40,000 more cars leaving dealerships than in 2009, however the future may not be quite so bright with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders predicting a decline of around the 5% mark and indeed registrations did fall during December, but consumer confident may make a come back before the year is out.
