2012 London Olympic BMW Fleet

BMW will provide a fleet of vehicles to the games aiding officials in their travels during the games and the first vehicle to be handed over to the committee was in fact a bicycle, probably not what you would expect from BMW, but included in the fleet are 400 bicycles which given where the games are held and aiding traveling around arena make a lot of sense.

Other vehicles that will make appearance include 320d Efficient Dynamics Saloon, the 520d Efficient Dynamics Saloon as well as the electric fleet Mini ES and BMW 1 Series Active Es. We will also see motorcycles which will aid organisers in the road events.

BMW are also providing a variety of cutting edge electrically assisted bicycles called Pedelec these will be available to both the Olympic and Paralympic teams.

Ian Robertson Marketing Director for BMW said “It is a tremendous honour to extend BMW Group’s long-term commitment to the Uk to this support for London 2012, the variety of difference BMW Group vehicles in the London 2012 fleet shows the depth of our dedication to provide sustainable individual transport to meet a broad swathe of difference needs. We will supply almost 4000 vehicles, in addition to the 400 bicycles, from diesels to electric cars, hybrids to motorcycles, as well as innovative new products like the Pedelec. I am also personally delighted that we are able to adapt a number of our vehicles for disabled drivers so that volunteers of difference physical abilities can drive our cars.”

I just hope that everyone was aware of the vehicles arriving this week, can’t help but feel someone taking a job in which they are promised a BMW and along comes a bike! although I sure they will be the finest bikes you can ride.
