Cars on the road tops one billion

The demand for cars worldwide has meant the number on the road has reached the one billion mark, 35 million news cars were sold last year with China being the forerunner with a massive 14 million sales equalling a rise in ownership by 27.5%.

In fact China now has twice as many cars as the UK and the market is expanding in leaps and bounds but still has quite away to go before it reaches the USA number of 240 million.

This increase to put into context means the number of vehicles has doubled since 1996 and looks set to carry on increasing.
