Volkswagen has revealed its new city car up! and by all accounts seems like it could become the biggest seller.

This really is a “baby” car at only 3540 mm long, but VW says it will carry four adults and the luggage capacity comes in at 251 litre, the engine will be a of 1.0 litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol and run at 67.3 mpg with 100g/km emission so will side step the congestion charge.

The Up will appear in a showroom near you next year with a good value for money price tag of £8500.

Arthur Dick 75 from Elgin was three times over the limit when he fell off is mobilty scooter and the police summoned.

A rather red faced Arthur had been to the pub with his mates and speaking to the sun he said “I only went in for one pint but friends kept buying me vodkas. I thought I was sober enough to drive home. I can’t remember anything about the accident. My mates are winding me up something rotten.”

Arthur has had his point free licence since the age of 17 and his ban will take him to 78 before he can have it back, however it does not stop his scootering ways as you don’t actally need a licence to drive a mobility scooter, however Mr Dick has been strongly advised by the local police not to take it to the pub!
